Blooming in Your DueSeason: Embracing the Power of Personal Retreat

Updated: Feb 18

"Beyond Limits"

After a much-needed break, I've been touched by the messages from people missing my presence online. I often explain that I needed to reconnect with myself, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally; taking time for oneself is essential, especially when life and faith call for it.

While social media can be a powerful tool for building hype, and connections and attracting clients, what happens when our inner foundation feels shaky? As someone deeply entrenched in the realms of mental wellness and personal development, I've found that sometimes the most profound growth occurs during moments of retreat. Despite the pressure to constantly engage and build a following on social media, I firmly believe in the importance of disconnecting to reconnect with myself, and God.

Throughout my journey, I've faced moments where it seemed like others were progressing while I was standing still, or rather stuck. However, I never questioned my purpose or lost my passion. Despite occasional creative blocks, my spiritual compass continued guiding me, reminding me that growth is a necessary part of anything.

Just like seeds planted in fertile soil, and every plant requires specific conditions to thrive, we must nurture our souls for enrichment and growth for our path toward self-discovery and cultivation eliminating the logic of shortcuts and speed.

Consider the lotus flower below, which emerges from murky waters to bloom in all its splendor. Similarly, we can transcend our struggles and bloom beautifully, even in adversity.

It's essential to embrace the concept that growth is not a competition but rather a personal goal. Just as flowers in a garden do not vie for attention or compare themselves to one another, we can focus without the burden of comparison and lay the groundwork for authentic growth that cultivates the foundation for the due season.

Imagine if individually we cared more about our journey, the seeds we sowed for the enrichment of our soil (foundation), just as plants and flowers?

Here are a few groundwork seeds to consider for your soil:

Reconnect with Self

Recognize the importance of taking a break to reconnect with yourself spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, especially in day-to-day life.

  • Reflect on your own needs and consider scheduling regular periods of self-reflection and spiritual renewal. Embrace that stepping back can lead to greater clarity and inner peace.

The Pressure to Stay Connected

The pervasive pressure to maintain a constant social media presence and its potential impact on mental well-being.

  • Reassess your relationship with social media and consider setting boundaries to prioritize your mental health. Remember, it's okay to step away and prioritize personal well-being over external validation. No matter what the guru's say

Embracing Personal Retreat

Honoring the need for personal retreat and self-care

  • Prioritize "me and God time" by intentionally taking regular breaks for self-reflection, prayer, meditation, or engaging in activities that bring joy and spiritual fulfillment. It's essential for overall well-being.

Trusting the Journey

Believing in a sense of trust and resilience is important in your journey, despite moments of stagnation or comparison; keep going.

  • Growth and healing unfold at your pace and setbacks are opportunities for learning and growth.

Blooming in DueSeason

Be intrigued with the uniqueness of what you're learning along the way, and you'll find strength in overcoming life's challenges.

  • Adopt the mindset of the resilient lotus flower that blooms in murky waters. Finding beauty and growth even in difficult circumstances, increases resilience with every challenge you stand up to.

Personal Growth Tips

Be intentional in nurturing personal growth

  • Prioritize self-care by engaging in activities that nourish your soul, such as feeding your mind by reading a self-help book, getting some sun, taking a walk, or listening to uplifting music. Remember to trust in the process and have faith that you are exactly where you need to be, even in moments of uncertainty.

Cultivating Your Inner Garden

  • Embrace the power of personal retreat and prioritize self-care as an essential component of your well-being. With the right care and attention, you will blossom beautifully in your time.

Conclusion

Believing in the uniqueness of my path has offered me the freedom to break when I'm off balance, break when I feel weak, and still be motivated and inspired by another woman sprouting next to me.

So as we navigate our journeys of growth and self-discovery, let's remember that comparison is the thief of joy. Just as flowers in a garden bloom at their own pace, trust that with the right care and attention, your time is coming. Embrace the power of personal retreat, nurture your inner foundation, and bloom authentically, knowing that you are exactly where you need to be, never forgetting that flowers in a garden don't have to compete with the flowers next to them, they just bloom...

In the garden, I am a Fragrant Cloud Hybrid Tea Rose', tell us in the comments what flower would you be.
